In 2012 when I first started my business (Little Button Bakery) I had very little idea what I was doing. My prices were pretty much a guess, my paperwork and systems were almost non existent and I was saying yes to everything and everyone. It’s fair to say that I was ‘winging it’ quite a lot.
How did that make me feel?
I was frustrated from working long hours for very little reward, I was tired and fed up from taking hardly any time off and I was disheartened as I was saying yes to cakes that didn’t light my fire or to clients who weren’t the right fit for me. It didn’t feel like the fun and creative outlet I thought it would be. Does this sound familiar?
But not any more!
I have made A LOT of changes over the years in my business processes, my pricing and in my own mindset. I’ve invested a huge amount of time and money into growing my knowledge base and learning how to do things better so I am now in a position to say my favourite saying (and I do so regularly, particularly in my Facebook group)…

I have over 10 years experience in running a hugely successful wedding cake business (Little Button Bakery - based near Manchester).
I’m multi award winning for both my work and my business including; UK Cake Business Of The Year at ‘The Cake Professionals Awards’ and three times winner of North West Wedding Cake Designer Of The Year at ‘The Wedding Industry Awards’.
I’m now also a judge for ‘The Wedding Industry Awards’.
I have an upper class honours degree in ‘Business Studies’.
I also have 8 years experience as a teacher prior to designing cakes.
I run a highly engaged cake business community on Facebook called ‘A Bigger Slice - The Cake Collective’.
I am friendly, honest, helpful, full of integrity (and energy) and I honestly just want to change the narrative in the cake world by educating, informing and helping as many cake makers as I can to understand how to run their businesses successfully, charge their worth, market themselves properly and make the profit they deserve from a career that they love.

A monthly training session on a specific business topic from me or a guest expert.
A monthly social media content planning session - all your content planned in 60 minutes!
A monthly ‘Empower Hour’ group coaching call where you can pick my business brain about anything at all within your business.
A monthly ‘Lightning Round’ - live review and feedback of your Instagram bio or a page of your website (for 5 members each month).
A resident ‘Mindset Coach’(Lynsey Grace Coaching) - who will deliver monthly sessions to banish those mindset monkeys and she is also member of the private Facebook community.
Quarterly (and yearly) business planning, forecasting and goal setting sessions.
A private Facebook community for support, accountability (and friendship).
Guest experts to help you in the Facebook community from some of our past training sessions such as two SEO gurus, an amazing accountant, a marketing mogul and our mindset coach.
